I am running a Lenovo yoga Pro 2 : Windows 10 64-bit Operating System, 4th Gen Intel® Core™ i7-4510U (2.00GHz 1600 MHz 4MB). Wifi card has been giving problems for years, intermittently dropping and sometimes not connecting at all.

Missed out the helo question.

Decided to change the wifi card internally. There are so many new wifi cards out there, therefore Im not sure I will purchase the correct card to work on my laptop.

What's the best card(supports 2.5/5G) that can fit my almost 5 year old laptop? MAny thanks.

You must work with Lenoco in finding an appropriate replacement wifi card for your laptop.

If I could apologize for Lenovo, I would. But, I cannot. Next time, purchase your products from a manufacturer that provides the support you paid for.

Now, there is nothing that can be done. If you endeavor to replace the card without consulting with Lenovo, you risk not having it work, or working sporadically.
