Intel 8260 on Ubuntu 16.04.3, airplane key on clevo N240JU computer does not work. How to fix it?

Hello,

We have the Intel wireless 8260 Chipset connected on the m.2 internal connector of a Clevo N240JU computer. The airplane key is mapped on the [FN]+[F11] key. On Ubuntu 16.04.3 LTS it does something strange : the key only cut the bluetooth but does not cut the wifi. Is there a trick I have to do?

Best regards.

Jean Tinguely Awais.

Hello Jean,

We understand you're having issues with your laptop's airplane mode key only disabling Bluetooth* on Ubuntu*.

Since our wireless adapter's work in Linux* using the open source drivers embedded in your kernel, and key mapping is an OS function, our best recommendation will be to engage the https://www.ubuntu.com/support/community-support Ubuntu* Support Community for assistance with this problem.

Looking into this, we found the following thread which suggests using dconf-editor to change or setup the hotkey binding:

- https://askubuntu.com/questions/531254/how-do-i-fix-wlan-hot-key-to-toggle-wireless-state-instead-of-airplane-mode How to set up hotkey for toggling wireless - askubuntu.com

The Ubuntu* Wiki also explains how to customize key bindings using the Gnome Control Center*:
