Intel 9560 is now slow after changing to a WiFi 6 Router

I have a laptop with a 9560NGW and it has had connectivity issues since my ISP changed the router they provide. They now use a WiFi 6 one. I have 500Mbps speeds (confirmed with my phone which shows 480 - 510 Mbps over several tests with both Fast and Ookla).

More details on the behaviour:

When I start a speed test (independent of which tools I use) it starts with about 150 - 200 Mbps and then just steadily drops to 1 maybe 2 Mbps. The reason I was doing the tests is that at times there would just be no internet at all (Teams and Discord would show as disconnected). The connection is never dropped tho.

It works fine with older routers (I tried the one in my cousin's house and the one in my aunt's house) and it worked fine with the old router (that one did show 500Mbps).

This laptop is the only device that behaves like this with the new router, my consoles, phones and my brother's computer work fine.

I am on the latest driver available @ https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/products/sku/99446/intel-wirelessac-9560/downloads.html

Hello CarlosFFM,

Thank you for posting on the Intel® communities. I understand that your new PA is having an issue with your laptop using the Intel® Wireless-AC 9560 because of the Wi-Fi 6 feature.

In this case, I will proceed to check the issue internally and post back soon with more details.

Hello CarlosFFM,

Thanks for your patience. If the router is using different wireless standards, Wi-Fi speeds will be limited by the lower of the two standards, you may need to change the network configuration for the router.

I recommend you try the following:

1. Test another AP.

2. Get in contact with your laptop manufacturer to confirm if the latest BIOS is installed.

3. Perform a clean install with Intel drivers 22.150.

4. Follow Recommended Settings for 802.11ac Connectivity

5. Follow Quick Checks to Improve or Fix Wi-Fi Connection Issues
