Hi,

I've bought a new notebook ASUS K55VJ, which has wireless network adapter - Intel Centrino Wireless-N 2230 with the latest drivers installed (Driver Date - 2013.01.23; Driver Version 15.4.1.1). I've got OS: Windows 7 Pro with SP1 installed. I faced problems with the download speed limitation with a maximum speed of 1.5 MBps on my home Wireless Network. Below there is information about router model and settings, also network adapter settings.

Router Model: Linksys WRT54GL (54Mbps) with the latest firmware version v4.30.16

Router Settings:

-Wireless channel 11

-Wireless Networ Mode - Mixed

-Security Mode - WPA2 Personal

-WPA Algoritms - AES

-Without transmission rate limits and with standard wireless settings

-QoS - Enabled

-WMM Support - Disabled

Network Adapter Settings:

-802.11n Channel Width For band 2.4 - Auto

-802.11n Mode - Enabled

-Ad Hoc Channel 802.11b/g - 11

-Ad Hoc QoS Mode - WMM Disabled

-Bluetooth AMP - Enabled

-Fat Channel Intolerant - Disabled

-Mixed Mode Protection - cts-to-self enabled

-Roaming agressiveness - 3.Medium

-Transmit Power - Highest

-Wireless Mode 3.802.11b/g

Why it is limited ? Is it possible to achieve a router speed limit ? Please help me to solve this problem.

Thank You!

Hello Vkuznetsov, on this case a recommendation will be to update the firmware of the router and also confirm that you have the following settings at your wifi adapter:

What are the recommended settings for 802.11n connectivity?

http://www.intel.com/support/wireless/sb/CS-030709.htm?wapkw=%28recommended+settings+n%29 http://www.intel.com/support/wireless/sb/CS-030709.htm?wapkw=%28recommended+settings+n%29

Also I suggest you to take a look at the following links:

What are the different Wi-Fi protocols (802.11a,b,g,n) and data rates?

http://www.intel.com/support/wireless/wlan/sb/CS-025321.htm?wapkw=%28data+rates+n%29 http://www.intel.com/support/wireless/wlan/sb/CS-025321.htm?wapkw=%28data+rates+n%29

Data rate will not exceed 54 Mbps when WEP or TKIP encryption is configured
