Intel Dual-Band Wireless-AC 7260 in Gigabyte H77N-Wifi

I just installed the mini pci version of this card in my Gigabyte H77N-Wifi motherboard and the card has no issues being detected but it does not see any wireless networks. Upon hitting the diagnose button, Windows tells me to turn on wireless capabilities. The device is enabled and is recognized in device manager no problem. I have tried using netsh to enable, which finds the adapter but when trying to enable says that the connection does not exist.. FYI I am on Win10 x64.

Hello Krist0pher,

Our adapters meets the latest standards in the market, however we have received some reports from customers who are not being able to have the Wi-Fi or Bluetooth* connection working properly because Windows* Update Dynamic seems not to be working accurately upon installation, as it is supposed to uninstall the current wireless or Bluetooth* driver installed before upgrading to Windows* 10. The OS upgrading process tries to find the latest inbox driver in Windows* Data Base; but the process is not being completed successfully. We would like to inform you that there is a new driver release available in our download center and comes with several fixes for the situation previously mentioned.

Intel® PROSet/Wireless Software for Windows® 10

With that being said and informed, we would like to take this opportunity and also let you know that Intel does not support integrations, please see the content of this link for more information on this matter: http://www.intel.com/support/wireless/wlan/sb/cs-011644.htm Intel® Wi-Fi Products — Regulatory Information Regarding Hardware Installation or Upgrade - We also recommend that you contact your motherboard manufacturer to see if the motherboard is fully compatible with this adapter.

Thank you for your response aleki. I do realize that you do not support "integrations". I am currently running the most current driver which installed fine and detects the wireless card, i just have no way to enable the radio. I have reached out to my motherboard manufacturer as well. I just cant stop scratching my head because the old mini pcie wlan card was an intel as well so I dont see any reason why windows would think I am using a laptop... I hope to hear back from Gigabyte soon to try and resolve this issue. Everything is detected and installed properly with Windows showing the correct device in device manager and it is enabled. It just seems that Windows thinks I am using a laptop and need to manually enable the radio on the wireless card.

Krist0pher,

There could be a compatibility issue and this must be checked with your motherboard manufacturer in details.

I have the same problem with the AC 7260 except I am using this with a different motherboard.

Card is recognised by windows and can be enabled but cannot detect any wireless networks. On the other hand the intel proset wireless utility does not recognise the card at all.

reakr,

It is important that you contact the motherboard manufacturer first for further information. Please bear in mind that all Intel(R) Wireless Cards are meant to be professionally installed by an OEM and/or a computer manufacturer as they do the customizations and adaptations in order for the wireless card to be fully compatible. Hi aleki_intel thanks for the information, actually I should give more information I am using the AC 7260 for a desktop PC via the following product:

http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=5157# ov GIGABYTE - Motherboard - Accessories - GC-WB867D-I (rev. 2.0)

The GC-WB867D-I (rev. 2.0) provides an interface for the AC 7260. The wifi activity light is solid, bluetooth works without a hitch, Device Manager recognises the hardware but the AC 7260 simply does not function. It is an firmware issue relating to the on/off radio function or a more problematic issue relating to incompatibility with OS/MB. This is a consumer level product which should work with all recent MB, there is no issue regarding general compatibility from the literature that I have read.

Also my issue is very specific, PC recognises card, card is active, yet no networks can be detected. Because bluetooth works without issue I do not believe there are grounds for isolating a hardware issue.

reakr,

Since the adapter is in a desktop, it is important that you make sure you are using the Intel® Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260 + Bluetooth* for Desktop. Please also make sure that the antennas are properly connected. We recommend that you contact the motherboard manufacturer to check for compatibility issues.

Thanks for your response, but I clearly said that the device I am using is the desktop model, I even posted a link to the Gigabyte device. Secondly bluetooth is working, it is not an antenna issue.

reakr,

In this particular case we recommend that you contact GIGABYTE* and see if they have possible solution. As informed previously, Intel does not support integration, please check these links for further information on this matter:
