Intel® Dual Band Wireless-AC 8260 issues

Hello,

I have issues with Intel 8260 WiFi adapter disconnecting for a few seconds randomly (can happen once a day or 3 times within 10 minutes)

This started after a year of owning my laptop (Gigabyte Aero 14) with no problems.

I tried reinstalling windows from scratch, updating bios and drivers but nothing helped.

Windows System log full of events such as:

1. Intel(R) Dual Band Wireless-AC 8260 : The network adapter has returned an invalid value to the driver.

2. 5007 - TX/CMD timeout (TfdQueue hanged)

3. The network interface "Intel(R) Dual Band Wireless-AC 8260" has begun resetting. There will be a momentary disruption in network connectivity while the hardware resets. Reason: The network driver requested that it be reset. This network interface has reset 1 time(s) since it was last initialized.

Any ideas what might be causing this?

Operating System: Win 10 pro 1809

Are you using the drivers provided by your laptop manufacturer? If not, you should.

Also, Gigabyte is solely responsible for support of your laptop. Contact them for support.

Hello LA0001, As stated by Al.Hill, we recommend using Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) drivers for your computer. Since you are using generic drivers already, we recommend performing a clean install of the latest driver for Intel® Dual Band Wireless-AC 8260. Intel® Dual Band Wireless-AC 8260 https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/28687/Windows-10-Wi-Fi-Drivers-for-Intel-Wireless-Adapters?product=86068 You can follow these steps: Clean Installation of Wireless Drivers https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000022173/network-and-i-o/wireless-networking.html If the issue persists, try installing OEM drivers as recommended above and follow the "Clean Installation of Wireless Drivers" steps. Is AERO 14 (GTX 1060) your system model? If so, you can try installing these drivers. Make sure you also choose the correct operating system. https://www.gigabyte.com/Laptop/AERO-14--GTX-1060#support-dl-driver-wlan NOTE: This link is being offered for your convenience and should not be viewed as an endorsement by Intel of the content, products, or services offered there.
