To get a better understanding of the issue, please help share the following information, so I can help isolate the issue and be able to an appropriate resolution.

1) Is your system new with an out-of-the-box issue or has it worked before it failed?

2) If previously working, what changes has been made prior to the issue?

3) Please share the driver version(s) that has previously worked.

4) Please share your system configuration so I can check further the possible root cause of the issue. This could be possible by downloading the Intel® System Support Utility for Windows* software. When the download is complete, launch SSU.exe.

Jeanettec, Agradeço por me ajudar a solucionar o problema.

Thank you for sharing that additional details there. Jeanettec, thank you for helping me solve the problem.

Yes, the Wi-Fi network adapter in question has worked before.

The notebook is relatively new and only about a year old.

I didn't make any changes to it. The computer simply froze and the screen went black. I pressed the power button for a few seconds and it restarted. After that, the Wi-Fi card no longer worked. Coincidentally or not, an updated version of this driver was recently released. I suspect the machine froze while trying to update it. However, even after completely reinstalling the operating system, it still doesn't work.

Attached are the registry information provided by INTEL SSU as requested.

The network adapter is currently not working with any of the versions mentioned in the picture above.

Hello cre_rafael,

Please proceed with the following steps below:

1) Proceed with a clean installation of the latest wireless drivers.

  • Try first with the latest OEM and if it does not work, then proceed with the latest Intel generic driver (23.120.0.3).
  • Follow the steps from this link.

2) Perform a "cold reboot" after the clean installation process.

I hope this works.

Yes, I followed the steps you gave me above, but the problem still persists. I'm starting to think the adapter has a physical problem. I'm going to take the notebook apart to properly assess its model and replace it with a new one because there are no more software solutions to resolve it.

Sincerely,

Rafael C.

Hello cre_rafael,

I see that your system continues to experience the same issue despite completing all troubleshooting steps. Given this situation, I strongly suggest reaching out to your original equipment manufacturer (OEM) for further assistance. They can provide a proper diagnosis to determine if a component has failed. Additionally, they can guide you on the replacement process and ensure that any new components are compatible and function correctly with your system.

So, at first I talked to Samsung Support, but they couldn't fix the problem. They actually told me to contact Intel Support, which is what I ended up doing

Hello cre_rafael,

I understand that you already checked with your system manufacturer about this issue, however, this is an OEM device. I have remaining steps below that you may try, and if the issue still persists, then you will need to contact back your OEM support team, for proper diagnosis.

  • Make sure the wireless function is activated. Refer to Connect to a Wi-Fi network in Windows
  • Update system BIOS to the latest version, or reset BIOS to defaults. For motherboard, refer to the motherboard manufacturer and for laptops, All-In-Ones, or notebooks, refer to your OEM (original equipment manufacturer) for support with BIOS updates:  Computer Manufacturer Support Websites
  • Identify which Wi-Fi adapter and Bluetooth device your system is running, then proceed with the Clean Installation process explained here: Clean Installation of Wireless Drivers this procedure also applies to Bluetooth drivers.
  • See screenshots below for examples of what Wi-Fi and Bluetooth devices look like in Device Manager.

  1. Install all available Windows Updates.
  2. Perform Clean Installation of Wireless Drivers. Clean installation of the wireless/Bluetooth drivers is a troubleshooting step recommended to remove any previous installation files that might cause conflicts with new driver installations.
  • Intel Wireless device. Example: Intel® Wireless-AC 9560 160MHz
    •
  • Intel Bluetooth device. Example: Intel® Wireless Bluetooth®
    •
  • When you uninstall the Wi-FI/Bluetooth device, it may become an unknown device, which is expected. The device will be identified again after you reinstall the driver.

  • Reboot the PC
    • Restore the system from the restore point. If the wireless network problem happens recently, and if you have ever created a restore point or there is an automatic system restore existed, try to restore the computer to a point before the problem began.
    • Reset your PC. If the problem persists after all troubleshooting steps are completed. Please back up your personal files, then reset the PC back to its original configuration.
    • To learn more about the system restore and system reset, refer to Recovery options in Windows.
  • Check and enable the Bluetooth component from Basic Input/Output System (BIOS) setup.

If your system is still showing the error after this, contact your original equipment manufacturer (OEM) for additional support.

Reference:

Codes 10, 22, 28, 31, 43 or 45 Errors in Device Manager for Bluetooth® or Wireless (Wi-Fi) Devices

I hope these helps.

Hello cre_rafael,

I hadn't received any updates from you until today. Please be informed that the issue might be due to a hardware malfunction or the operating system not correctly recognizing the drivers. To address this, you can try the following steps:

  1. Reinstall the operating system from scratch.
  2. Take your system to the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) to have the card checked.

I regret that the issues persist despite our efforts to resolve them through various troubleshooting steps. You can use this message to show your OEM that you have contacted Intel for assistance and proceed with obtaining their diagnosis and further help.

I will be closing this thread. If you need further assistance in the future, please feel free to submit a new question, as this thread will no longer be monitored.

Sincerely,

JeanetteC.
