Intel Wireless AC 8260

I recently purchased Intel NUC 6i5SYH. This unit comes with Intel Wireless AC 8260. I installed Debian 8 Jessie and spent so much time to get the wireless to work. Then I decided to install Debian 9 Stretch RC3. Right out the box installation, the wireless was working. Pairing and connecting the bluetooth to a bluetooth device was a tricky.

I ran a Speed Test from Google and notice a considerable amount of download speed drop when the bluetooth is connected to a device via A2DP. If I set the bluetooth off, the download speed more than doubles. I repeat the test multiple times within minutes to make sure that this is not a router or ISP issues. I get nearly consistent results with the download speed when the bluetooth is set to A2DP or to off.

I read somewhere in the LInux forum that some people are noticing this problem too with older Debian version. Any thoughts? Could it be that the LInux driver is buggy compared to Windows' driver? Or can you tell me if you are experiencing the same problem in Windows.

Thanks a bunch.

Hello,

We understand that you noticed a performance drop in the WiFi connection whenever you use a Bluetooth* device. Here are some important items for your consideration about this:

- Devices using Bluetooth* technology may cause local interference to the WiFi connection, specially if the Network is using 2.4 GHz. Bluetooth* uses this band as well. Information about sources of local interference is mentioned in the the advisory: http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/network-and-i-o/wireless-networking/000005493.html Quick Checks to Improve or Fix Wireless Connection Issues.

- We would like to mention that driver development for Intel® Wireless adapters happens in the open-source Linux community. You may want to check the https://wireless.wiki.kernel.org/en/users/Drivers/iwlwifi iwlwifi Linux Wireless page for details and support information. You can also find additional information about this in the following document: http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/network-and-i-o/wireless-networking/000005511.html Linux* Support for Intel® Wireless Adapters.

- In our best effort, we advise you to make sure you are using the latest drivers and firmware for your wireless adapter, as noted in the 2 previous links regarding Linux support.

- If the issue persists after this, please keep in mind the limitations mentioned in thehttps://wireless.wiki.kernel.org/en/users/Drivers/iwlwifi iwlwifi page: "About platform noise" and "Wi-Fi / Bluetooth coexistence".

Regards,
