Intel® Wireless Bluetooth® for Windows® 10 and Windows 11* not installing on my computer.

Intel® Driver & Support Assistant advises i have 1 software update available:

Intel® Wireless Bluetooth® for Windows® 10 and Windows 11* but when i go to install it i get a message: this software package cannot be installed on your computer.

i don't understand why it keeps alerting me that i have this one update available if it can't be installed?

Thanks for posting on the Intel️® communities. We understand that you face an error message when trying to install a driver that the Intel DSA suggests.

 

We would like to further investigate this matter, to do so, please provide me with the following:

  • Did the Intel® Driver & Support Assistant work as expected before?
  • Share a screenshot of the error message you receive.
  • Create a system report using the Intel System Support Utility (Intel SSU) 
    • Download the Intel SSU
    • Open the application and click on "Scan" to see the system and device information. By default, Intel SSU will take you to the "Summary View."
    • Click on the menu where it says: "Summary" to change it to "Detailed View."
    • To save your scan: click on "Next"; then "Save."

Hi Jean

I get this update alert every time I turn on my laptop.

I try to install and it keeps aborting with this message:

So far this has been the only update alert I have received since downloading Intel Driver & Support assistant.

 

I did an update to the wireless driver form the Dell support site. Do you think this might be causing a conflict?

Hi Jean

I get this update alert every time I turn on my laptop.

I try to install and it keeps aborting with this message:

So far this has been the only update alert I have received since downloading Intel Driver & Support assistant.

 

I did an update to the wireless driver form the Dell support site. Do you think this might be causing a conflict?

Thanks for the information provided.

 

Not that there are two different types of drivers, generics provided by Intel and Equipment Manufacturer drivers, that are customized to work with each specific system. The Intel® DSA installs the Intel generic drivers. We always recommend installing the driver from the OEM to eliminate the potential impact caused by loading non-custom drivers; however, there should be no conflict when installing one on top of the other.

 

We would like to recommend you reinstall Intel® DSA:

 

If the issue is still present, we would like to further investigate this matter, to do so, share with us the following:

  • The Intel® DSA files. For further information you should refer to the following article.
  • Do they have any browser plug-ins installed?
  • Are you using any type of security software? If so, which one are you using?

Actually, the more appropriate guidance is (1) specifically, do not use Intel's DSA tool on Dell machines (they have their own tool for this activity and it better handles OEM-customized hardware and drivers) and (2) generally, do not use Intel's DSA tool on systems this old (there is little that this tool can offer and it makes mistakes when it is attempting to handle older, discontinued adapters).

Hi Jean

i did the uninstall and downloaded the latest version of the Intel DSA . still got the same update alert when laptop re started and still the same abort message when i tried to install the update.

The browser has Norton Password Manager as the only extension installed.

security software is Norton Security and Windows Defender.

see attached The Intel DSA files.

After reviewing this matter we would like to recommend you install the 22.190.0. driver manually.  Once the installation is complete, try scanning with IDSA to see if it stops offering the update.
