Intel Wireless-N 7265 / Model 7265NGW BN

Hey there,

i have an Toshiba Notebook, where this Card is installed and i am wondering, how i can get 5ghz Network working on this.

I see only 2.4 available under the Drivers.

Had opened the Notebook and saw the card is connected to 2 Wires.

Does this card does not support 5 Ghz WLAN ?

Driver issue ?

Can i replace the card with an newer Modell to get it working ?

Cheers

Thorsten

Hello Thorsten,

Thanks for posting. We understand that you want to confirm if Intel® Wireless-N 7265 can operate on 5 GHz wireless band.

The https://ark.intel.com/products/84178/Intel-Wireless-N-7265 Intel® Wireless-N 7265 is a single band adapter, meaning it works with 2.4 GHz only. This is part of the hardware design and not a feature defined by drivers alone.

Regarding the number of antennas, this adapter model has a 2x2 antenna configuration. This means it uses two antennas for Transfer and Receive data streams, regardless of what bands are supported.

When thinking about replacing the wireless adapter on your system, it is always important to work with the https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/topics/oems.html OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer). Just like any other device, not all wireless adapters are physically and electrically compatible with all systems. Therefore the integration must be validated by the OEM. Otherwise, this may lead to installation errors, connection issues, software error messages, and in some cases it may even be illegal.
