Intel be200 Wi-Fi 7 card not working on Ubuntu 24.04.1 LTS (Kernel Linux 6.8.0-44-generic)

Hi, I have a Lenovo ThinkBook 15 G2 ITL (model 20VE00FNIX) and today I replaced the Intel Wi-Fi 6 ax200 card to put a Wi-Fi 7 be200; the hard disk has 2 partitions, the first with Windows 11 (and the Wi-Fi card works perfectly) and the second with Ubuntu 24.04.1 LTS where the Wi-Fi card is not working and I don't understand why. It's not a hardware issue otherwise it wouldn't even work on Windows 11. I tried to start the Live installation of Ubuntu 24.04.1 but even during the installation the hardware is not recognized (I attach screenshot).

Doing 'lspci' on CLI it sees it: 2e:00.0 Network Controller: Intel Corporation Wi-Fi 7(802.11be) AX1775*/AX1790*/BE20*/BE410/BE1750* 2x2 (rev 1a). Here it says that the driver should be available already from Linux Kernel version 6.10:

THIS IS MY PROBE: https://linux-hardware.org/?probe=3aa78ced52

Please somebody help! Thank you guys.

Hi pietropecco,

I understand that you are reporting that the Wi-Fi 7 BE200 is not working on the Ubuntu 20.04.0 LTS. Please allow me to check what else I could be of help with.

First, I would like to set your expectations that installing the Intel wireless card has a regulatory guide. To ensure that it is following the international regulation for installing the card. To ensure that you will be able to understand properly, you may check this link: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000005687/wireless.html

Furthermore, in order for me to assist you with this, I would like to set your expectations by saying that I will be asking you a series of questions to narrow down the recommendations I could provide. If you may, kindly share the following details below:

  1. May I know the reason why you need to upgrade the wireless card on your laptop?
  2. Have you checked the compatibility of the Intel wireless card with your laptop's manufacturer for installing the card?
  3. Have you done any troubleshooting? If so, please specify.

Furthermore, I hope that you download and install an Intel tool that will scan your system. Don't worry; there will be no personal information to be collected. To get the tool, please visit this link: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/download/18895/26735/intel-system-support-utility-for-the-linux-operating-system.html

Please run the program, select everything, then scan, click next, save the result log, and upload the text file in your next response.

I will be waiting for your response.
