Intermittent wifi on Killer Wi-Fi 6E AX1675x 160MHzNetwork Adapter

My PC has a Killer network adapter. For 2.5 years it ran with no issue. I replaced my C: drive SSD a few months ago for an (I thought) unrelated issue (my PC would freeze). Everything was fine for a few weeks, but now my wifi keeps dropping. Sometimes every few hours, sometimes after 30 minutes.

My PC says that I'm connected to wifi and the Windows network troubleshooter says I'm connected to the internet, but when I try to use a browser, it says it can't find the internet. A few minutes later, the network troubleshooter toggles between connected and disconnected, saying it can't find a DNS.

The culprit is not my modem or router. There are several other devices in the house connected to the same router and modem and they aren't experiencing any issues at all, even while my PC's internet connection is unresponsive.

I think I've tried everything to fix it, and I hope someone here can help.

Here are the the things I've already done:

  • restarted the PC - works for a limited time
  • turned the modem and router on and off - works for a limited time, very inconvenient for the rest of the house
  • updated power management settings on the network adapter
  • forgot the wifi network and added it again
  • made sure BIOS was updated
  • ran a whole list of ipconfig commands in the Command prompt
  • tried Windows network troubleshooter
  • updated all system drivers with Windows Update - didn't contain any Killer software
  • updated all Killer drivers using Intel Driver Support Assistant - did not reinstall the Killer Intelligence Center after reading issues about it online

My system info is below and I attached the file from the Intel System Support Utility.

One more thing, I also reset the WLAN AutoConfig to Automatic Startup type.

In my experience, this issue is often caused by an errantly-installed update. What I suggest you try is a clean install of the driver. That is, uninstall all instances of the Killer software package and AX210 driver (and Intel Bluetooth driver if you have that installed), reboot. and then install the latest Killer package (and latest Intel Bluetooth driver package if you had it installed).

Hope this helps,

I did try that before. When I said I updated the Killer drivers, I meant I uninstalled them and reinstalled them. It took a while because I kept getting error message, but finally it installed the latest driver correctly. I'll do again to see if that helps.

If it doesn't, is there anything else you can suggest?

I uninstalled and reinstalled the Killer and Intel Bluetooth drivers again and it's still happening.
