Hello BCDS,

We would like to inform that the antennas for the Intel® Dual Band Wireless-AC 8265 cannot be purchased separately. The adapter and antennas are meant to be installed from factory into complete systems by the Computer Manufacturers. Each OEM/ODM may have altered the features, incorporated customizations, or made other changes to the software or hardware packaging they provide.

The Intel® Dual Band Wireless-AC 8265 Desktop Kit is the only current version that comes with the antennas as part of the kit.

https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/wireless-products/dual-band-wireless-ac-8265-desktop-kit-brief.html Product Brief: Intel® Dual Band Wireless-AC 8265 Desktop Kit

The antenna information we can provide is limited, as they should be integrated by the OEM according to their requirements. However, you might want to review the following thread where another user had a similar question:

/thread/124293 AC 8265 or 9560 antenna

Leonardo,

Thank you for your answer.

What exactly is not supported?

Manufacturer of the device that I own pointed to the 8265 wifi card by intel as to a supported model. Because of that I ordered one[8265] and as it got delivered from a third party without antennas.

Now I need to procure the antenna or rather two. Am I right?

I found that I can order the antenna by Microtic https://mikrotik.com/product/ACSWI https://mikrotik.com/product/ACSWI. But I would rather need a confirmation that it will be compliant with your device, because otherwise there will be too many unidentified variables , in my opinion and will only let me follow the trial and error principle or I will need to order ordering somewhere the card with antennas already mounted.

Thank you for sharing the link,

Regards

Andrei

Hello Andrey_nsk

Thank you for the information.

The product brief for the Intel® Dual Band Wireless-AC 8265 Desktop Kit (https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/wireless-products/dual-band-wireless-ac-8265-desktop-kit-brief.html https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/wireless-products/dual-band-wireless-ac-8265-desktop-kit-brief.html) comes with antennas if this is the model that you got I would recommend contacting the reseller if it was delivered without the antennas. Or if you purchase the Intel® Dual Band Wireless-AC 8265 (https://www.intel.com/content/dam/www/public/us/en/documents/product-briefs/dual-band-wireless-ac-8265-brief.pdf https://www.intel.com/content/dam/www/public/us/en/documents/product-briefs/dual-band-wireless-ac-8265-brief.pdf) which in this case the antennas are not included.

Leonardo,

Thank you for your response.

Could you clarify if the card has connectors for antennas of type uFL or of type MHF4, please?

Because in other threads I can see folks who say it is uFL and others say that it works with MHF4.

Does that mean that it will work with any of these connectors?

Hello Andrey_nsk

Thank you for the information.

In regard to wireless integrations in laptops, and due to legal constraints, we do not support wireless integrations. Instead, we recommend that you contact the motherboard manufacturer to find out if they do.

Each Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) may have altered the features, incorporated customizations, or made other changes to the software or hardware packaging they provide. In this case, you already perform the integration and it is important to note that it may not work properly in your system bear in mind that We do not recommend any type of antennas. It might not meet country regulatory antennas.

Thank you.

Leonardo,

Thank you for your response.

But considering that the content on 3rd sites is not controlled by Intel:

How to determine if that offering has the antennas included or not? [it is said to be sold by Intel]: https://www.amazon.com/Intel-Dual-Band-8265-2230/dp/B06XZLKDLP/ref=sr_1_2?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1539870383&sr=1-2&keywords=intel+8265 Amazon.com: Intel Dual Band WL AC 8265 2230 2X2: Computers & Accessories

I needed to get a devkit [to that the manufacturer directed to 8265 as to the supported model] to use wifi.

What I ended up with is the below:

1) I ordered from ebay 8265 [not the desktop kit] from China and it never arrived

2) for a triple price I ordered 8265 locally, but never got found any compatible antennas available locally

3) I ordered 8265 Desktop Kit from Amazon that will be delivered over the Ocean to my location and that will include antennas

4) I ordered separate MHF4 antennas for a couple of bucks from Aliexpress.

Hopefully in less than a month I will finally be able to use the card with the devkit board and will even have one spare or two spare of them

Thank you for your contribution.
