Missing UWD for Bluetooth 22.70.2

Prior to 22.60.0 Intel was providind UWD Bluetooth driver under BT_22.60.0_all.zip package, but with 22.70.2 release, only regular package BT_22.70.2_64_Win10.zip is available either IT or regular installer and no more UWD Release can be installed.

Will Intel restart publishing UWD Release or community will depend Windows Update Catalog for that?

Hello @josefrancklin

Thank you for posting on the Intel® communities.

In order to check this further, could you please confirm the following information?

1- Exact model of the Intel® Wireless Adapter(s) regarding this request:

2- Operating system version and build number:

3- Are you deploying or managing a large installation or driver update process on a company or enterprise environment? Please provide details.

4- We notice that in the latest download links there is no a "BT_xx.xx._all.zip" package file. Please elaborate more on why do you need this type of package and if applicable what the impact is.

Also, could you please provide more details when you said: "no more UWD Release can be installed"? Are you unable to install the driver through the other installers (BT_22.70.2_64_Win10.zip and .exe installer)? Is there any particular issue o limitation triggered in the case of using those versions?

Hi,

Let's go to answers:

1. and 3., I manage an Enterprise environment with at least two different devices: Intel Wireless Bluetooth 8265 and 9560 based.

2. Windows 10 v2004

4. According this Microsoft Article < https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-hardware/drivers/develop/driver-isolation >, Destination folder for driver installation desdribed inside "*.inf" MUST be DriverStore (DirID 13), so Intel Bluetooth Driver prior to 22.60 was DCH compliant but new 22.70 is no DCH compliant because 22.70 destination is not DriverStore.

Additionally, According this Intel publication < https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000031572/programs/intel-corporation.html > Intel started transitioning DCH Drivers since 2018 and attempts to install non-DCH driver installation (22.70) over an already existing DCH (22.60) "isn't recommended as it involves a complex process that could result in system instability".

So I and other IT Administrator expects Intel restart publishing both non-DCH "BT_XX_64_Win10.zip" and DCH "BT_XX__Win10.zip" packages in order to avoid instabilities for 64 bit systems like they were in 22.60 Release.

Regards.
