My WiFi: Communication between AP and Peer

I need to build up a demo system where a smartphone communicates with a PC over Wi-Fi.

Therefore I want to use Intel's My WiFi solution to make the computer act as an Access Point, to which the phone can easily connect.

My question is: Can the phone's application (aka Client) communicate with the PC's application (Server)?

ok, figured it out myself by trying: yes, both AP computer and the device (smart phone in my case) can communicate with each other.
