I am looking to replace the Wi-Fi card on my wife's Dell Inspiron 5559. Current card is a 3160.
I like what I see about the Intel Dual Band Wireless-Ac 8265, but there seems to be multiple versions: e.g. 8265.NGWMG, .NGFF, .NGW, .NGWMG.S etc. I cannot determine what the real differences are between the various versions so I do not know which to purchase.
Any information would be greatly appreciated.

You should contact dell support and ask them these questions in relation to compatibilty and support.

It is compatible alright. Dell sells an 8265 but does not state which version. But price is over 4 times what I can get it for elsewhere.
So, I would prefer an answer to the question posed.
