New PC purchased with an Intel Dual-band Wireless AC 3168 and system will not pick up my home wifi

I recently set up a new PC: iPower with an Intel core i5-10400f 2.9GHz, 8GHz RAM, 64bit OS with Windows 10.  It did not pick up my home router, even though the TV it is hooked to connected just fine.  I used my phone's hot spot to get on the internet and downloaded the Intel support tool.  I installed the updated driver for the network adapter and it picked up the network and worked fine yesterday.  Today I came home and cannot find my home network again.

Hhmmm, sounds like you do not have antennas properly connected to the card.

Bingo, thanks Scott.  I used to put computers together 20 years ago and haven't had a PC in a long time.  When I unboxed the computer, the antennas were in with the video card stuff.  works like a champ now!

Hello khodge70,

Thank you for posting on the Intel® communities.

In order to better assist you, please provide the following:

1. Run the Intel® System Support Utility (Intel® SSU) and attach the report generated:

  • Open the application, check the "Everything" box, and click on "Scan" to see the system and device information. By default, Intel® SSU will take you to the "Summary View".
  • Click on the menu where it says "Summary" to change to "Detailed View".
  • To save your scan, click on "Next", then "Save".
  • Use the option under the reply window to attach the report to the thread (Drag and drop here or browse files to attach).

2. Brand and model number of your router/modem.

3. Are you having issues with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, or both?

4. Does this issue happen on different networks as well?

5. Is this the original adapter that came pre-installed in your system or have you changed/installed a new adapter recently?

6. Do you see any error message under the Device Manager Network Adapters

Regards,
