Newest drivers release shipped incompletely by Intel?

The latest release of wireless drivers from April 9th seems to be incomplete. Package 21.0.0 makes the following jumps in versions for the different Wi-Fi adapters compared to the previous release:

20.120.1.1➔21.0.0.5 for 9560/9260/9462/9461

20.70.6.1➔20.70.7.1 for 8265/8260

19.51.18.1➔19.51.19.1 for 7265(Rev. D)/3165/3168

18.33.15.1➔18.33.15.1 for 7265(Rev. C)/7260/3160

Notice how the last entry doesn't change while all other entries do. As this update is only supposed to fix general problems with Windows (Release Notes) and does nothing adapter specific, I don't really understand why those adapters would be left out. Especially when you consider that the Bluetooth drivers released on the same day do include these adapters.

There also is no note indicating that the drivers didn't change from last package, as is usually the case (see Description of previous Package 20.120.1).

Could it be that those drivers where accidentally forgotten while shipping the package?

No, the package is complete and nothing has been forgotten. If the version number for an individual driver does not change from one package release to the next, then there was simply no update for that driver available at the time of release.

Okay, i just checked the page of Package 21.0.0 again and the description was fixed. It now states that the adapters 7265(Rev. C)/7260/3160 did not receive an update in this release. So thanks for clarifying that.

I'm still curious though if we can expect these fixes in a future release. Maybe somebody from Intel could chime in?

Hello JMert5, The fixes and changes that will be implemented on future releases may not be available at this moment. We recommend continue checking the release notes for future driver packages and the Intel Newsroom for more information.
