PCIe adapter for wireless 6 desktop card

Hello.  I currently have a wireless 7260 in a pcie 1x slot (HMC form factor) and I bought a Wireless Desktop 6 adapter set and naturally its an M2 form factor not HMC.  Does anyone know of a good m.2 NGFF adapter for PCIe?  I would like to be able to replace this card but I've hit a wall so far.

My motherboard has an M2 slot on it but apparently its not the same M2 as this NGFF one because I couldn't get it to fit.  I assume its dedicated to an M2 drive use only.

Your board probably has M.2 slot(s) of Type B or (more likely) Type M. These are used to support SATA and/or NVMe SSDs. The wireless cards need an M.2 slot of Type A or (more likely) Type E.

There are a whole slew of adapters available. Here is an example of one that offers the compatibility and features needed: https://www.amazon.com/Desktop-Wireless-Network-Converter-Including/dp/B01MFGYAX6. It provides the M.2 Type E connector and it also provides the link to a motherboard USB connector to support the card's Bluetooth capability as well. I am, in fact, entering this response on a PC that has one of these cards installed. It has an Intel AX200 (Wireless-AX/WiFi 6) module on it.

Hope this helps,

P.S. This page https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M.2 provides a good introduction to M.2 and its slot types.

Scott, that is EXACTLY what I needed sir, thank you for your post.  I thought "m.2=m.2, why isn't this fitting?"

I ordered that card and I hope to put it in next week when it comes in.  A huge thank you!

Dennis
