Problems with Intel Centrino 6230. How to turn-off bluetooth?

Hello everyone!

I recently bought Intel Centrino 6230 Wi-Fi card, which is popular upgrade for Asus G53/G74 family (I have got Asus G53SW). Everything works perfectly except the thing that I cannot turn-off bluetooth radio. Combination of Fn+F2 turns-off only Wi-Fi radio, and bluetooth is working all the time. I have latest drivers for the card and all updates for Windows 7 Pro SP1 x64. After switching the cards I made full format of the system to make sure that it is working perfectly and there aren't any issues with previous drivers. I can turn-off bluetooth only through device manager but this is not full solution for me. Do you have any ideas how to solve it? I might add that many of fellow G53/G73 users have the same issue after upgrade

Hello Artur,

Note that Intel does not support the installation of wireless adapters in OEM systems.

Installing an aftermarket wireless adapter in your laptop can cause several issues which may affect usage of the wireless adapter or laptop. Some of these issues may include the following:

- The OEM may have installed the wireless adapter with a lock to prevent installation of another adapter.

- Your adapter may not be electrically compatible with your laptop that may cause the adapter and/or your laptop to no longer function.

- Wireless hardware installation and use is subject to regulatory approval, and the adapter purchased may not support your local regulations.

Also there are many reasons that an adapter might fail completely or partially when installed in an OEM system.

As to the error you are experiencing, - this is due to how the Bluetooth radio connects to your laptop. Your adapter is not installed correctly or is not supported by your OEM system. You need to contact your OEM for assistance with this issue.

Cheers!

But everything is working perfectly. Under Ubuntu 12.04 LTS I'm able to control both radios. Under Windows 7 I cannot turn-off bluetooth. So I think it might be driver issue.
