Looking to buy a Intel® Dual Band Wireless-AC 8265 or Intel® Dual Band Wireless-AC 8260. I'd like to purchase online, but not from a independent seller like on ebay. Any recommendations?

Hello Forepher87,

If you plan to buy a new Intel® Wireless Adapter to replace the one that is already installed in your PC, our best recommendation is to engage the https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/topics/OEMs.html Computer Manufacturer Support or its authorized service provider to check compatibility, obtain instructions on where to buy and have it replaced with them whenever possible.

Please keep in mind that Intel does not support, nor recommends custom integration of wireless adapters since this may lead to installation errors, connection issues, software error messages, and in some cases it may even be illegal.

For more information, please check the following advisories:

Also, you can purchase Intel® retail products from http://locate.intel.com/ Intel® Technology Providers, in case you want to check that out as well.

Could only find all in one's, desktops, servers and mobile on the Intel technology providers page. The manufacturer put a power saving wireless card in my laptop, and know I could get the 8265 to work in this laptop. Anyways... Not happy about this, but I guess I'll have to risk buying from a independent supplier... Ugh.

Hello Forepher87,

In this case, we advise you to obtain the adapter from an authorized service provider of your Computer Manufacturer. As you mentioned, most Intel® Technology Providers do not have Intel® Wireless Adapters in their inventory since the OEM's are the ones that normally take care of this type of upgrades.

We do not handle information about 3rd party, or non-registered sellers.

Regards,
