Hello lufranmu,

We understand you would like to replace your current wireless adapter with an Intel® Dual Band Wireless-AC 7265.

For hardware compatibility, we recommend to check with your computer manufacturer. They're the only ones that can guarantee the replacement part will be supported. Custom wireless integrations and upgrades have very limited support.

I was not able to find more specific details, but based on the information and specifications I found online, it seems that your laptop uses PCIe* Half Mini Card (HMC) form factor (connector type) for wireless adapters, so an M.2 replacement, such as the Intel® Dual Band Wireless-AC 7265, would not fit.

The last model we manufactured using the HMC form factor was the Intel® Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260, which was manufactured in both M.2 and HMC models.

The adapter on the left uses the HMC form factor, the one on the right is the same adapter but in M.2.

It's also important to mention that some computer manufacturers limit which adapters may be installed in their computers through a BIOS whitelist. In such cases, installing an unauthorized adapter may prevent your computer from booting.

If your computer manufacturer confirms that your wireless adapter slot is M.2, and your system isn't limited by a whitelist, then you may want look into the https://www.intel.com/content/dam/www/public/us/en/documents/product-briefs/dual-band-wireless-ac-9260-brief.pdf Intel® Wireless-AC 9260 for Gigabit performance.
