Thinkpad Yoga Intel Wireless AC 7260

I have a Thinkpad Yoga (20CD), upgraded to Windows 10, with Intel® Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260. My wireless was working fine until a few days ago when, after some updates were installed, my Yoga was unable to connect to the internet and no wireless options were available to me. My Yoga could not find any wireless devices and the Network section in Device Manager disappeared. When I viewed hidden objects in Device Manager, the Network section appeared, but the properties for my wireless card said it was not connected. I restored my system to its state prior to the updates and my wireless card was back and I was able to connect to the internet. The updates that were deleted in the restore were Intel drivers (bluetooth, display, media, system and MEDIA), Intel programs (Wireless Bluetooth, Driver Update Utility, Processor Graphics), a Windows security update and Google Chrome. An update for Microsoft Office 2013 also caused the same issue to occur. Has anybody encountered this issue (updates to drivers and programs causing the wireless device to disappear) and resolved it? Thank you in advance for any assistance.

ssmith4154,

Intel recommends that you always use the drivers and updates provided by your computer manufacturer to avoid any possible inconveniences. Our drivers found in our Download Center: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25340/Intel-PROSet-Wireless-Software-for-Bluetooth-technology-for-Windows-10-32-bit-WP- Download Intel® https://downloadcenter.intel.com/product/72252/Intel-PROSet-Wireless-Software Downloads for Intel® PROSet/Wireless Softwarehttps://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25340/Intel-PROSet-Wireless-Software-for-Bluetooth-technology-for-Windows-10-32-bit-WP- https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25340/Intel-PROSet-Wireless-Software-for-Bluetooth-technology-for-Windows-10-32-bit-WP- are generic and may not meet all the requirements requested by the manufacturer. We alos recommend a driver update only if you experience any issue that is impacting the performance and connection.

I downloaded and installed the drivers at the link you provided and the problem was not resolved. I restored my system to an earlier date and was able get wifi back and connect to the internet. However, after a short period of time, the connection was lost and the AC 7260 appeared in Device Manager but in properties under device status it says "the device cannot start (code 10). the device does not exist". Any ideas?

ssmith4154,

Error code 10 occurs when the drivers that the device needs does not start and it is related to Windows*. If the wireless adapter is the one installed by factory, we recommend that you obtain the correct drivers from your computer manufacturer since the previous link to the drivers failed to resolve this issue. Here you can find their contact information: http://www.intel.com/support/oems.htm Computer Manufacturer Support

We also recommend that you check this links as they contain information that might help find a solution to this error code:Fix: "https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/943104 This device cannot start" Code 10 error in Device Manager in Window and this as well: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/310123 Error codes in Device Manager in Windows
