Hi,

I have updated my notebook OS and since then I'm unable to use the WiFi on it. Later I saw on the site that a number of WiFi products aren't supported on windows 8. When will this change?

PS: Sorry for my poor english.

Thank you very much for your post.

We apologize for the inconvenience as there are no plans to provide Windows 8 drivers for the Intel® WiFi Link 5100 since it has become a legacy product currently out of interactive support. There are newer adapter models fully supported on Windows 8 as you can see from the following article:

Joe_Intel,

Let me get this straight. If I want to upgrade my computer from Windows 7 to Windows 8, Intel is NOT going to provide the drivers for this adapter, correct?

May I share this on other forums so people will be aware of this?

I really liked this adapter and now find out no more support. I hope Intel would reconsider, since many people are now upgrading to Windows 8.

Thank you,

Rick

Not the kind of response I would expect from a company like intel, I thought that this company cared about its customers. However, as already paid for upgrade to windows 8 and would not want to go back to my old OS, I wonder if there is any intel WiFi modem that supports Windows 8 and is compatible with HP PAVILION DV7 2040US? At least with that you guys could help me. After all, I'm gone need to buy another one of your products.

Sorry for the harsh words, but we are not used to this kind of treatment here in Brazil. We have a very extensive number of laws that protects consumers, so companies tend to be more careful about consumer needs. But since I bought that notebook in the US, there is nothing else I can do but to ask here for some kind of help. I also hope that after not so many other pleas you guys are going to reconsider this and provide some kind of support.

Thanks

PS: Again, sorry for my poor english.
