WiFi card Intel Dual Band Wireless AC7260 and Router TP-Link TL-WDR4300

I have a problem with the connection card Intel® Dual Band Wireless AC Router 7260 and TP-Link TL-WDR4300

The speed of download and upload data is limited to 40Mb / s.

The same Router TP-Link TL-WDR4300 with Intel® Centrino® Advanced Kata-N 6235 speed is 94Mb / s, which is enough internet connection.

Both laptops are at the same distance from the router in the same place.

The tests were carried out on the 2.4GHz and 5GHz on.

Why newer network cards can not get the full speed?

Hello Laki,

Here are some actions that may help resolve wireless connectivity issues:

1. Use the most recent version of Intel® PROSet/Wireless Software and Drivers, the current version is 17.14.0. You can select the correct version for the Intel® Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260 according to your OS version, fromhttps://downloadcenter.intel.com/product/75439/Intel-Dual-Band-Wireless-AC-7260 Intel® Download Center.

2. Make sure your Wireless router has the most recent Firmware. Since the 7260 is an AC adapter, some Wireless routers may require firmware updates, or specific configurations to work well with the new adapter.

3. Apply the configuration from the advisory:

http://www.intel.com/support/wireless/sb/CS-030709.htm?wapkw=wifi+recommended+settings What are the Recommended Settings for 802.11n Connectivity?

4. Disable Bluetooth and check if it helps. Bluetooth shares the antenna with WiFi, and in some cases, BT signals may have a detrimental effect in the WiFi connection.

5. Confirm you are using a current encryption policy, such as WPA2-AES. Older authentication protocols, such as WEP-TKIP limit the connection speed to 54 Mbps.

If the issue is not solved, let us know the details of your system, PC model, PROSet version, driver shown in device manager, wireless router model and firmware, etc.

Hello Laki,

The driver version shown in the picture is for the Bluetooth radio, not for WiFi. You can obtain Intel® PROSet/Wireless Software and Drivers, version is 17.14.0 directly from Intel® Download Center. Or using http://www.intel.com/p/en_US/support/detect?iid=dc_iduu Intel® Driver Update Utility.

Here are some additional actions that you can apply:

- Verify that the AC 7260 is connected to a network operating in the 5 Ghz band. To achieve this, it is recommended to set you router for concurrent Dual Bands, then set different SSID's for the 2.4 GHz and 5 Ghz bands. You should be able to connect your AC 7260 to the 5 GHz network without interference from devices operating in the 2.4 GHz band if you use different SSID's for each band.

For details on how to do this in your router, please check pages 43-45 and 57 of the http://www.tp-link.com/resources/document/TL-WDR4300_V1_User_Guide_19100.pdf TP-Link* TL-WDR4300 User Guide.

- Please make sure to Enable WMM in the router. This can be done in the Wireless Advanced Settings of your router.

- In your PC, go to Advanced properties of the Wireless Adapter (accessed through device manager), then set Roaming Aggressiveness to "Lowest". Also set U-APSD support to "Disabled"

If the issue persists, please try the following and let us know the results:

- In the Advanced properties of the wireless adapter, set HT mode to "HT mode".

- Try disabling Wireless Security and test if the connection improves.

- Let us know if the adapter was installed from factory, or if this is a custom upgrade.

- Provide the driver version shown in device manager.
