Win 7 and Intel wireless chip 7260 does not connect to eduroam

We have not been able to get our Windows 7 laptop to connect to the eduroam network. The issue might be some firmware setting within the 7260 chip and its interaction with Windows 7.

The Dell laptop, Latitude E4300, connects fine with a D-Link DWA-130 wifi-modem, which does not have the suspect Intel chip inside.

Does anyone know about this issue? Is there another workaround, such as a newer driver?

I would like to check some more information about the system configuration you have so can you let me know what is the PROSet version software you have and the Wireless Driver?

Thanks for your fast response.

The laptop is a Dell Latitude E4300 with Win7 installed.

The PROSet version is 17.0.0.0. Should I download the latest version?

The display adapter is Intel WiFi Link 5300 AGN v12.4.1.4 using the driver file, netw5v64.sys.

I'm told most of our Win users use Win7 and will be affected. Our current workaround is to use a non-Intel, USB wifi modem.

Also, eduroam uses a Radius server for authentication.

Now I am in doubt with something here. You say you have the Wireless 7260 but also you mentioned the WiFi link 5300 AGN card (which is an old product now) so my question is, what is the wireless you have?

You can check this information under Network Adapters in Device manager. Let me know please.

The Win7 laptop has the 5300 AGN card. The symptoms described in the 7260 posting in the Airheads Community website are the same symptoms I'm seeing here.

Ok, the latest Proset wireless sw is downloaded and installed on this laptop. I still can't connect to eduroam.

I found some information in the web with a configuration for this; however, it is necessary to check with the network admin the correct configuration. In your case, there may be some different steps while doing the configuration.
