Wireless AC 7265

I have an Dell that come with a really bad wifi card, so i get a new wifi from Intel 7265 AC, but i installed and uninstalled all intel drivers from version 17 to 18.40 and my wifi is not connecting on my 5Ghz network and the bluetooth also have that yellow icon showing it is not working correctly. do you guys have any idea how to solve this issue ?

Our first recommendation at this point is to contact your computer manufacturer, in this case Dell*, and check with them if they have any driver update that might help you resolve this issue. It is important that you know that your system may not have been designed to support the Intel® Dual Band Wireless-AC 7265 and its functionalities and only Dell* can clarify this piece of information. With Intel AC7265 Wi-Fi card with driver 17.0.2.5 over 2.4GHz band, when I select the 2.4GHz SSID and connect, I don't see the WPS PBC symbol. But same works fine with 5GHz SSID.

When I upgraded the driver to latest 19.0.1.1, I can see the PBC symbol over 2.4GHz SSID. Would like to know the real issue related to WPS PBC Intel addressed.

In my setup, Intel card AC7265 can see 2.4GHz and 5GHz SSIDs and I can select 2.4 or 5GHz SSID to establish WPS PBC. I didn't get real issue fixed in Intel driver to see PBC symbol when I try to connect it to 2.4GHz SSID.

Please clarify the same.

You are correct, the Intel® Dual Band Wireless-AC 7265 will see and connect client devices according to the band selected (2.4GHz and 5GHz). However, as explained before, wireless routers with multiple frequency bands or radios allow WPS/PBC connection for an specific band not the two, unless the router has two distinct button, one for each band.In clients that support 2.4GHz and 5GHz, when you push the WPS/PBC button, depending on the wireless router, it may force a client device to only connect via WPS/PBC on the 5GHz band. As you can see, this is not an issue with the drivers.

Could you please be so kind and tell us the exact brand and model of your customer's router?Please, we also would like to reinforce that this security standard was created by Wi-Fi ALLIANCE and any additional information on WPS/PBC such as documentation and/or features can be provided by them. Based on the various data we have collected, looks like issue is with Window's 7.With dual band radio(2.4 GHz and 5GHz ) AP, when we try to associate Windows Wi-Fi client to 2.4GHz SSID followed by 5GHz SSID we don't see PBC symbol during association for any one SSID. When we changed the code in AP to have separate UUID for each radio issue was resolved. But same issue is not there with Windows 10. As per Wi-Fi WPS spec, we cannot have separate UUID for each radio.
