I apologize if I have selected the wrong Forum.
I have an HP Envy x360 laptop computer (Windows 11 Home 24H2) which has Intel Driver and Support Assistant (DSA) installed. The laptop did have Intel Connectivity Performance Suite (ICPS) installed, but I believe I have uninstalled it (by right-clicking the ICPS icon in my Start menu).
However, now when I restart my laptop, I get an error message: "Get an app to open 'icpslauncher.lnk' , Your PC doesn't have an app that can open this link. Try looking for a compatible app in the Microsoft Store," or something similar. The problem: I do not want ICPS on my system; because I do not believe I need it with my stable Netgear Orbi home network router. How can I remove the "icpslauncher" link, or correct the issue that makes it appear?

Also found another solution.
Open Task Scheduler and delete the ICPS task.

@NormanS_Intel , hello and thank you. I think I tried those instructions (I found them on Lenovo, I believe?). However, after I went through the process, I began to see the following error message on my laptop home page when restarting (picture below). Then, because I was not able to figure that out, I reinstalled the version of ICPS which I had uninstalled...very frustrating. Right now, I have version 4.1025.325.6 on the system. Before I try to uninstall again, do you have any suggestions how I can fix the error popup (assuming I get it again)? Thanks for your help!

Hi @SoppingMan I'm sorry, but I did not figure it out. Revo Uninstaller doesn't show ICPS for uninstall, either. So, I re-installed ICPS to get rid of the error popup, and will just live with the System Tray icon, or right-click Exit.
Also just for info, stopping (disabling) Services for Intel Connectivity or ICPS apparently will not prevent ICPS from opening again when my laptop reboots. That said, whatever ICPS is doing in the background (if anything) seems to use minimal system resources.
I gotta tell ya...that ICPS is "one tough nut to crack."

Thanks for responding and well I have managed to do away with the error but not finished what I have started..
I also should add I have an Asus Zenbook 14 oled laptop about a year old for reference.. So, it can at least be noted that you have an HP branded laptop which at least means it can be shared!
Although, the HP looks like this one and is probably the same..
I am not sure which step did it, yet. As apart from uninstalling and even purging various services and registry values that shouldnt have been there any longer.. then reinstalling in a more customisable fashion I now have windows update that attempted to install a stupid ai asus network driver... even though I had stopped auto updates and telling it and myasus app not to download let alone install... and even at least notifying before doing anything. So, myasus or intel support assistant will likely create a conflict, add unnecessary nonsense and ill just accept everything and try again.
Tempted to create some sort of software program of my own to run on modern laptops to simply purge known crap and install drivers only. also get rid of anything called ai

Sounds like you've done a lot to try and figure it all out, which means you're about 10 levels of expertise above me.
That may not work, but by that time I will have driven myself mad and it won't matter anymore. 🤪 Thanks for the kudo, and may all your solutions work out for the best!

So, I have got rid of the error and all is well; but I guess in a somewhat conformist kind of way, after first doing the cleanup of the other non-intel and microsoft required drivers.
I also disabled everything but the Windows security notification icon in the Windows 'Start up Apps' in systems configuration. run -> msconfig - startup tab.
I reinstalled the ICPSlaucher related intel application. Rebooting but when it came in the taskbar it said "you have icps disabled, do you want to enabling it?" and obviously said "keep disabled".
So, yep I have downloaded and reinstalled ICPS program by Intel and but its disabled when asked. As previously, it was causing conflicts then the icpslauncher.ink missing app error, it isn't now. Intel® Connectivity Performance Suite (ICPS) for Intel® Wireless Products, and Intel® Connectivity Manager (ICM)'. If you want to install it download it here but you can just disable it for no more dramas.

Thanks for your effort. I also chose to disable mine when I reinstalled it; however, guess what--the icon is back in the System Tray again!
