Can't install Windows 8 64bit driver from Intel's driver page for my N-6230 hw. I have a Samsung NP900X3B-A01US laptop.
The file loads, I see the animated progress image but after 5-10 seconds it closes. I rebooted the pc, re-downloaded fresh copy of the driver, ran as admin, ran in W7 mode, XP SP3 mode, etc. Same issue. Tried both 32 and 64bit files. The 32 doesn't even load at all.
I understand you have an issue trying to install the driver for the Intel® Centrino® Advanced-N 6230.
It is possible this issue is caused by a corrupt Windows* installer. You may try the tool from the link below:

I redownloaded the update from this link, 64bit for Windows 8.This time it was in zip format and I ran the DPInst64 file.
It says it is version 15.6.1
I first uninstalled the current driver 188.8.131.52 included the "uninstall driver software" option in dialog box, then ran the setup for the new one. It is still ends up installing 184.108.40.206 instead.
It is good to know you were able to install it. The version showing up in device manager (220.127.116.11) is expected for this wireless adapter model and operating system combination.
