Hi Simon, could you share the log files and screenshots with us?

The default path for log files would be: C:\Program Files (x86)\Intel\oneAPI\logs

Hi Arpan,

Thanks for your info. I've tried to install MSDK2021R1 again and checked the log dir. There is no log generated.

Attached please find the screen shots of the installer.  After the second screen,  the installer crashed.

Simon, the Intel® Media SDK project is no longer active.

Intel® Media SDK users are encouraged to read the transition guide on upgrading from Intel® Media SDK to Intel® oneAPI Video Processing Library (oneVPL), and to move to oneVPL as soon as possible. To know more on this, please visit here: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/docs/onevpl/upgrade-from-msdk/current/overview.html

To download an executable of Intel® oneAPI Video Processing Library for Windows*, visit here: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/developer/articles/tool/oneapi-standalone-components.html#inpage-nav-8-10

Yes Arpan,

I know it is no longer active. But I want to install it to compile my previous code. Could you help to see why the installer is not able to execute?

Thanks!

Simon,

As you know, Media SDK is no longer available. Media SDK functionality has been superseded by oneVPL, FFmpeg and GStreamer. We no longer have anyone who works on Media SDK because we have transitioned our resources to oneVPL.

The Media SDK libraries still exist and are called internally when appropriate, they are activated by oneVPL calls. So, as specified in the message below, if you need continued support, you will need to transition to oneVPL.

For more information see the oneVPL Landing Page: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/developer/tools/oneapi/onevpl.html where you will find, among other information:

oneVPL version 2.x is an API that is the successor to Intel® Media SDK. The Intel Media SDK project is no longer active and will not be updated. Packages and downloads are still available on GitHub*. For continued support and access to new features, Intel Media SDK users are encouraged to move to oneVPL as soon as possible.

·       Upgrade from Intel Media SDK to oneVPL

·       Intel Media SDK Discontinuation Notice

·       Download from GitHub

Let us know if you have any questions about oneVPL or how to convert from MediaSDK.

Pamela
