How can we renew an academic floating license for Parallel Studio XE?

Hello,

We have been using an academic floating license for Intel Parallel Studio XE, serial # (****-********)

It expired on 28-Jan-2021

The faculty member who managed this license has retired.

I am teaching the class now and would like to transfer license management to me so I can request a renewal.

How can I  transfer this license and renew it?

Thank you!

Hi Dr. Sam Siewert,

Thanks for reaching out to us.

I am moving this thread to (Registration, Download, Licensing and Installation - Intel Community), a dedicated forum that handles issues related to Registration, Download, Licensing, and Installation.

Hi Sam,

The license has been successfully transferred to your account. Visit the Intel® Registration Center and sign in with your login id to find the product license.

Intel® Registration Center Link: https://registrationcenter.intel.com/en/products/

However, we suggest you edit out the license information from the post since it is your confidential information.

Proceeding further, please know, it is a non-commercial license. These licenses cannot be renewed they can only be reapplied for. However, Intel® has transitioned from providing Intel® Parallel Studio XE as a free tool to providing Intel® oneAPI Toolkits as a free tool. The transition from Intel® Parallel Studio XE to Intel® oneAPI Toolkits delivers additional capabilities through existing tools and new tools.

The Intel® Parallel Studio XE Cluster Edition product suite maps to the equivalent Intel® oneAPI Toolkits: Intel® oneAPI Base Toolkit + Intel® oneAPI HPC Toolkit.

The Intel® oneAPI Base Toolkit and the Intel® oneAPI HPC Toolkit are available for Windows*, Linux*, and macOS*.

·      Qualification – No qualification is required.

·      Support – All Intel® oneAPI Toolkits are available at no cost and include community forum support. Community Forums

·      Licensing – Install and run the tools under the terms of use found in the End User License Agreement. No license files are needed.

Please click on the below link to choose and download the required product tools with respect to Intel® oneAPI Toolkits.

Note - Make sure to download and install Intel® oneAPI Base Toolkit first and then add Intel® oneAPI HPC Toolkit or the toolkit of your choice.

Have a safe and wonderful day ahead!

Soumya

Thank you - I am not able to edit the original post - can you please remove the e-mails and license #?

I did not realize it was "world readable", I thought this was just a post for Intel only.

Thank you!

Sam

Soumya,

Is there anyway to renew our academic license?

The license is transferred, but still expired and says it can not be renewed as it is not commercial?

How can we request a new license for Parallel Studio XE?

Of must we in fact upgrade to oneAPI HPC instead as the only option?

Thank you!

Sam

Hi Sam,

We have removed the serial number and the email ids from the post. For future reference, please know we will reach out to you through private message for the personal information related to the case if required.

As mentioned previously, renewal is not possible since it is a non-commercial license. It can rather be stated as an educator license. However, please know there is a paid license that is coined by the term of the academic license. You may visit the below link for more information:

Paid licenses only undergo support expiration. However, Non-Commercial licenses undergo product expiration at the time of support expiration. It means that the product would no longer be functioning with the expired license. You would require a new license for it. You may refer to the below link, for more information.

Since the transition, providing Intel® Parallel Studio XE as a free tool has become outside of our scope. However, the only way left, to avail Intel® Parallel Studio XE suite is by purchasing a commercial or academic license for Intel® oneAPI Toolkits. You may contact our resellers or visit our webstore for more information regarding the purchase.
