How mirror locally repo "oneAPI" for Cobbler deployment

Hello,

I would like to mirror (sync) Intel oneAPI repo to create a local mirror for Cobbler. I have added Intel oneAPI repo in Cobbler, but when I run "reposync", repo created and mirrored is too big (more than 100 GB...). What is the size of the Intel oneAPI repo? Is it possible to mirror only some packages discarding old versions and, only, mirror newest version of each package?

Thanks.

Hi Daniel, could you share the OS Platform on which you are using the software? Also, please share the toolkit or tool you are using?

We would like to know.

Hi,

I have installed Intel-oneAPI in some machines from my students lab. That machines are Intel i7 and Intel Xeon. OS is, in all machines, CentOS-7, but in a few weeks, all nodes are going to be upgraded to Rocky Linux.

I'm the lab sysadmin, so I can't specify the tools that are being used by teachers and students, but, for example, I know that "icc" compiler is one of the tools more frequently used.

Thanks.

Hi,

Thanks for posting in Intel Communities.

>>Is it possible to mirror only some packages...

You can install the required packages(latest version) using the standalone version of the components.

You can use the "--newest-only" flag so that it will download the newest version of each package in the repository by discarding older versions.

Please refer to the below link to get standalone components:

https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/developer/articles/tool/oneapi-standalone-components.html

Thanks & Regards,

Noorjahan.

Hello,

I have added "-n" flag to Cobbler reposync options (reposync_flags: "-l -n -d") to allow option "--newest-only" but, when I run "cobbler reposync --only=Intel-oneAPI", I get this:

Here, you can see that, for example, for package "intel-aikit", cobbler reposync has downloaded some versions, not only newest.

Thanks.

Hi,

I have answered above. I think "--newest-only" doesn't solve my problem... or I'm doing some wrong...

Thanks.

Daniel, the oneAPI repository also contains standalone components, which are packages that provide a specific tool for cases where you do not need an entire toolkit which might take up more space than it is required for our users.

To know more on this, visit here: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/docs/oneapi/installation-guide-linux/2023-0/list-available-toolkits-components-and-runtime.html#LIST-AVAILABLE-PACKAGES
