Issue in accessing the license file for ICC

Hi,

I am trying to get the ICC license file to install ICC which was mentioned in the per-requisites to build ODU-LOW in ORAN documents

https://docs.o-ran-sc.org/projects/o-ran-sc-o-du-phy/en/latest/build_prerequisite.html#build-prerequisite

we are unable to access or see the license file.

SO instead of using ICC we thought of bypassing that by using GCC, but we are seeing errors while compiling FAPI and WLS libraries where thay are using ICC libraries.

Can you suggest us how to get the license or like how can we bypass using ICC and proceed with GCC.

Regards,

Sindhu

Hi Soumya,

Thank you for your response.

As per your given solutions we tried to install the oneapi basetoolkit for icc installation and later tried with system studio installation but while running the ./install -s silent.cfg  we can see the following error

[user@IA-platform system_studio_2020_u2_ultimate_edition_offline]$ ./install.sh -s silent.cfg
The license file(s) you provided is not valid for this product.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

and to build dpdk also we are getting error wrt license files as given below:

command we used : ./dpdk-19.11/usertools/dpdk-setup.sh

Error: A license for Comp-CL is not available now (-15,570,115).

A connection to the license server could not be made. You should
make sure that your license daemon process is running: both an
lmgrd process and an INTEL process should be running
if your license limits you to a specified number of licenses in use
at a time. Also, check to see if the wrong port@host or the wrong
license file is being used, or if the port or hostname in the license
file has changed.

License file(s) used were (in this order):
** 1. /opt/intel/system_studio_2020/compilers_and_libraries_2020.2.254/linux/licenses
** 2. /opt/intel/licenses
** 3. /home/user/intel/licenses/USE_SERVER.lic
** 4. /home/user/intel/licenses/USE_SERVER_1.lic
** 5. /home/user/intel/licenses/license.lic
** 6. /opt/intel/system_studio_2020/compilers_and_libraries_2020.2.254/linux/bin/intel64/../../Licenses
** 7. /home/user/Licenses
** 8. /Users/Shared/Library/Application Support/Intel/Licenses
** 9. /opt/intel/system_studio_2020/compilers_and_libraries_2020.2.254/linux/bin/intel64/*.lic

Please refer http://software.intel.com/sites/support/ for more information..

icc: error #10052: could not checkout FLEXlm license
/bin/sh: line 0: test: -le: unary operator expected

We are following the below link for building odu-low and for that we need the prerequisites like ICC and DPDK

https://docs.o-ran-sc.org/projects/o-ran-sc-o-du-phy/en/latest/build_prerequisite.html#build-prerequisite

Hi Sindhu,

Thanks for getting back to us on the post. The Intel® System Studio suite comes with a license and the suite requires its license to be installed unlike the previously mentioned Intel® oneAPI Toolkits. Please note, Intel® has transitioned from providing Intel® System Studio as a free tool to providing Intel® oneAPI Toolkits as a free tool.

However, the transition from Intel® System Studio to Intel® oneAPI Toolkits delivers additional capabilities through existing tools and new tools.

The Intel® System Studio Ultimate Edition product suite maps to the equivalent Intel® oneAPI Toolkits: Intel® oneAPI Base Toolkit + Intel® oneAPI IoT Toolkit.

If you are a developer who was part of our previous Student, Academic or Open Source Developer Tools program and wish to extend your existing license of Intel® System Studio, then you may try emailing your serial number and contact information to software_tools_request@intel.com to request a license. However, please know, the chances of getting a license are low and it is not guaranteed.

The only other way left, to avail Intel® System Studio suite is by purchasing a commercial or academic license for Intel® oneAPI Base Toolkit & IoT Toolkit. You may contact our resellers for more information regarding the purchase.
