I installed on my PC Intel Parallel Studio XE 2020 and Microsoft Visual Studio 2019 Enterprise. Unfortunately, Parallel Studio is not linking to Microsoft visual studio. Getting warning about incompatible Microsoft VS DLL. Please help.

Thanks

  • OS build on which you are installing the software      MS Windows 10 Enterprise
  • Is the installer an online or an offline package?          Online
  • Version of Microsoft Visual Studio installed along with it's build version:    MSVS Enterprise 2019, Upgraded to Enterprise 2022
  • Other versions of Intel® Parallel Studio XE or Intel® oneAPI already installed on the system: XE 2020 Update 4
  • Installation Log files.
    • The default path for a log file for a oneAPI installation is: C:\Program Files (x86)\Intel\oneAPI\logs
    • The default path for a log file for a Parallel Studio XE installation is: %temp%\pset_tmp_PSXE<version>_<username>

Hi Timothy, thank you for sharing the details with us. Kindly check the below link and find the compatible Visual Studio version for Intel® Parallel Studio XE 2020 Update 4.

Intel® Compilers Compatibility with Microsoft Visual Studio* Link: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/developer/articles/reference-implementation/intel-compilers-compatibility-with-microsoft-visual-studio-and-xcode.html

Kindly follow the below troubleshooting steps to resolve this issue.

  • Completely uninstall all the version of Visual Studio, then install Visual Studio 2019 16.7.2 versions from the scratch. Please make sure no files related to it are remaining using InstallCleanup.exe. You may refer to the below link for more information on it.
  • Link: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/visualstudio/install/uninstall-visual-studio?view=vs-2022
  • Make sure that the uninstalling process automatically remove any an all files from the below path.
  • Path:
    • C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\VisualStudio\Setup\x86\Microsoft.VisualStudio.Setup.Configuration.Native.dll
  • Install Intel® Parallel Studio XE 2020 Update 4 and try to integrate again.

Note: Make sure you select the 'Desktop development with C++' component while installing the Visual Studio 2019 16.7.2
