OneAPI installer does not show Child Window

OneAPI does not install on Windows 11 Insider Preview 10.0.22624.1391.

When I launch the installer, after allowing to run in Administrator mode, the bootstrapper asks if it should continue with a popup window. That popup window is not visible, I can see it appear on the taskbar and with Alt-TAB, but it won't come to the foreground.

I ran the bootstrapper from the commandline and let it generate a log file:

........ deleted, all ok ..........

I am on an AMD system, I hope that is not the problem?

Hi Marcel, please share the below information with us:

- Is the installer an online or an offline package?

- Version of Microsoft Visual Studio installed along with it's build version

- Other versions of Intel® Parallel Studio XE or Intel® oneAPI already installed on the system

- Installation Log files apart from the one shared

The default path for a log file for a oneAPI installation is: C:\Program Files (x86)\Intel\oneAPI\logs

The default path for a log file for a Parallel Studio XE installation is: %temp%\pset_tmp_PSXE<version>_<username>

We would like to know.

I tried both, same result, i.e., hangs on the taskbar without opening a window to let me OK continuing the install.

VS 2019 is not on the system anymore.

- Installation Log files apart from the one shared

I had it install on d:\intel ( where the previous oneAPI was )

The default path for a log file for a Parallel Studio XE installation is: %temp%\pset_tmp_PSXE<version>_<username>

I did have Parallel Studio installed, but had to uninstall and go use OneAPI :

C:\Users\marcel>dir %temp%\pset_tmp_PSXE

Very much appreciated!

Notes:

1. VS 2022 installed last week.

2. I am on an AMD Ryzen 7 5800X system.

Windows 11 Insider Preview 10.0.22624.1391 (ni_release)

3. Just now tried again, now accepting the default on C: ... same result, no child window.

Marcel, the build version is compatible. So, that should not be the issue.

Please note that we offer support for hardware platforms that the Intel® oneAPI product supports. These platforms include those that are part of the Intel® Core™ processor family or higher, the Intel® Xeon® processor family, the Intel® Xeon® Scalable processor family, and others which can be found here – https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/developer/articles/system-requirements/intel-oneapi-base-toolkit-system-requirements.html

If you wish to use oneAPI on hardware that is not listed on the site above, we encourage you to visit and contribute to the open oneAPI specification - https://www.oneapi.io/spec/

Dear ArpanB,

> Marcel, the build version is compatible. So, that should not be the issue.

The build version of the installer, of OneAPI, or of VS?

OneAPI is downloaded correctly.  According to the log file, the installer starts but encounters a Windows related error after installing files in the target directory. Neither OneAPI or VS comes into play yet, so to me it looks like the Intel installer is not compatible with the Windows 11 build, or more precise: Windows 11 is not compatible with the Intel installer.

> Please note that we offer support for hardware platforms that the Intel® oneAPI product supports.

Understood, I very much appreciate the problem was being looked at all.

Regrettably, that means I must get my numeric solvers working with comparable AMD libraries first.

Marcel, you could also try the installation on Intel® supported architecture so that we can support on your issue. Unfortunately, Intel® will not be able to support issues encountered on unsupported platforms.

Thanks Arpan,

I will use OneAPI on my HP Z840 workstation as soon as I have figured out how to install Windows 11 on it.
