I am working on a Macbook Pro and use Parallel to emulate the Windows system. Therein I have installed Visual Studio Community 2022 17.12.4 and Intel oneAPI Base Toolkit 2024.2 (and also tried 2025). However, the oneAPI Toolkit installation (and likewise the repair) always ends with an error message: Some errors occured in the process.
and the log file says:
WARNING : Product configuration is not finished successfully. Integration in IDE(s) might be in incomplete state or custom post-install/remove actions might fail.
Details: Attempt 1 of 2 failed. Execution of C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio\Installer\resources\app\ServiceHub\Services\Microsoft.VisualStudio.Setup.Service\VSIXInstaller.exe failed with exit code 2003, output:
Attempt 2 of 2 failed. Execution of C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio\Installer\resources\app\ServiceHub\Services\Microsoft.VisualStudio.Setup.Service\VSIXInstaller.exe failed with exit code 2003, output:
Error: Sequence execution failed.
Does somebody have similar experience or is aware of any incompatibility oneAPI Toolkit with that version of Visual Studio?

Hi Katharina, kindly follow the below troubleshooting steps to resolve the issue.
- Open the Control panel and click on Uninstall a program below the Programs box.
- Find "Microsoft Visual Studio (all existing versions)" then click the right button and uninstall.
- The uninstaller program will be open then click on remove and select the next procedure.
- Kindly visit the below link to find the steps with InstallCleanup.exe to make sure a Visual Studio version is completely uninstalled.
- Link: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/visualstudio/install/uninstall-visual-studio?view=vs-2022#remove-all-with-installcleanupexe
- Once the uninstallation is complete, please proceed to uninstall Intel® Toolkits with the help of control panel or using their installers of the Intel® Toolkits.
- After successful uninstallation, we recommend installing Visual Studio 2022 Version 17.11.4 as your first step.
- Please note, that our engineering team has tested and documented the compatible Visual Studio versions and their build numbers for integration with the suite & toolkit versions.
- Intel® Compilers Compatibility:

- Make sure you select the 'Desktop development with C++' component while installing Visual Studio.
- Once Visual Studio 2022 Version 17.11.4 is successfully installed, you can proceed with installing Intel® oneAPI Base Toolkit from the below link:

So Visual Studio Community 2022 17.12.4 is NOT compatible with Intel oneAPI Base Toolkit?
Because the version of Visual Studio is only difference between what I have done several times and what you are describing.

Update: I followed the steps precisely, including installing Visual Studio 17.11.4 and yet I get the exact same error message at the very end.
