Similar problem here.

I had the previous version of OneApi 2022 on Windows and upgraded.   This did not go well:  instantly I couldn't start vTune.   I went to uninstall and I have seen both de previous and current version in the installed programs.

After uninstalling and reinstalling, vTune does not start.  The splash appears, then disappears and the program is halted.

Hi flgilbert,

Thanks for posting your concern on the forum. We apologize for the inconvenience caused. Please go through the below steps (in the mentioned order) and proceed only when the previous step has been completed.

  • Uninstall Visual Studio instance(s) including any remaining traces of other versions. Kindly visit the below link to find Microsoft's recommended ways to uninstall and remove Visual Studio completely.
  • Download the installer for the currently installed Intel® oneAPI Base Toolkit instance(s) and try repairing it through the installer.
  • Uninstall the repaired version(s) through the same installer
  • Install Visual Studio 2022 (64-bit) - Version 17.1.x with the Desktop development with C++ component selected.
  • Try installing Intel® oneAPI Base Toolkit 2022.1.3.

To simplify, Visual Studio 2022 is, in a way, obstructing the proper installation & uninstallation of toolkit versions prior to Intel® oneAPI Base Toolkit 2022.1.3. However, to install and use the mentioned latest version you would have to do a clean install due to the situation.

Do let us know if there are any concerns. Have a nice day ahead.

Regards,

Soumya
