Our Windows container image builds started failing when we upgraded oneMKL from 2023.1.0.46356 to 2024.0.0.49672.
At a high level, those builds:
1. Install the latest compatible version of the VS build tools w/C++ workload (v17.8.5 in this case)
2. Install the latest Fortran compiler (v2024.0.2)
3. Install the latest oneMKL version (v2024.0.0)
I don't think Intel actually supports installation in containers, so I tried this on my machine too and I get this:
Then when I try to customize I can't select oneMKL:

Hi Ryan, please know that the issue you're experiencing is related to the installer type and the compatibility of Visual Studio. We have tested and verified that the offline installer is working without any issues. To assist you further in resolving the issue, please follow the troubleshooting steps outlined below:
- Open the Control panel and click on Uninstall a program below the Programs box.
- Find "Microsoft Visual Studio 2022 17.8.5," then click the right button and uninstall.
- Once, the uninstallation is complete, kindly download the compatible Visual Studio version (i.e.: Visual Studio 2022 Version: 17.7.5)
- Please note that our engineering team has tested and documented the compatible Visual Studio versions and their build numbers for integration with the suite & toolkit versions.
- Intel® Compilers Compatibility:
- Make sure you select the 'Desktop development with C++' component while installing the Visual Studio.
- Post the successful installation of Microsoft Visual Studio 2022 Version 17.7.5, kindly install Intel® oneAPI Math Kernel Library for Windows (offline installer) by referring to the below link:

Sorry, 17.8.5 was a typo. v17.7.5 is the version we're using.

Hi Ryan, we understand your concern. Kindly follow the steps shared in the previous response and try to install the product using an offline installer with the compatible Visual Studio that you're using to integrate the product.
