oneAPI installer fails to detect Visual Studio 2019 installation

Hello,

I tried installing oneAPI basekit 2021.4 on windows 10. I had visual studio enterprise 2019 (16.11.3) previously installed with C++ desktop development. The oneAPI installer did not detect the visual studio installation.

I was looking for solutions first and came across this similar issue:

https://community.intel.com/t5/Registration-Download-Licensing/OneAPI-Integration-with-Visual-Studio...

Having read the compiler Visual Studio compatibility table I reverted VS back to 16.9.11 and tried installing oneAPI 2021.3 but it gives the same no IDE detected error.

VS is installed on the default windows program files directory.

Here is the output from the VS 'About' box:

I have tested the oneAPI 2021.4 + VS2019 (16.9 and 16.11) combo and the integration was successful.

I suggest the following - repair Microsoft Visual Studio and then download and install the latest 2021.4 oneAPI Toolkit you wish to install.

I am looking into oneAPI 2021.4 + VS 2019 (16.11) issue you have reported. Meanwhile for 2021.3 - please open Add/Remove Programs > oneAPI Toolkit >Modify and then in the list of Installed Products click Modify>Repair button in oneAPI Tool kit (you wish to install) box.

Hi Devorah,

Thank you for your help.

I ran the repair on VS2019 and it showed that a package had not installed correctly. I found the package msi and re-installed using this and resolved the errors. Once the installation was repaired then the oneAPI installer was able to detect Visual Studio.

I can confirm that i have now have installed oneAPI basekit 2021.4 with Visual Studio 2019 16.11.3 integration.

Thanks & reagrds,

Gerard
