Santa Clara, Calif. — Intel® and Bose Professional, an industry leading innovator in the professional audio/video industry, have partnered to develop an app that integrates controls for the Bose Videobar VB1 all-in-one conferencing device with the Intel Unite® content sharing and collaboration software. This new app allows any meeting participant to control the Bose VB1 audio and video functions from their laptop, smartphone, or tablet—regardless of operating system.

The joint development addresses the increasing demand for remote conferencing solutions, providing users the power to share content and collaborate effortlessly with 4K ultra-HD video quality and superior audio intelligibility.

“Early in our conversations with the Bose Professional development team we decided to explore using the Bose VB1 with Patient Sight, an inpatient telehealth app we were developing,” said Brian Cockrell, Intel Unite product owner and co-founder. “The results were promising, and we moved forward on development of an integration with broader applications.”

The new Intel Unite app for the Bose Videobar VB1 will expand the use cases of the sound bar beyond Patient Sight to include applications in enterprise, education, and the government sector, among others. Both parties expect further collaboration to jointly leverage the open architecture and flexibility of Unite architecture and the industry-leading audio expertise of Bose.

“Bose is dedicated to bringing best-in-class user experiences to today’s evolving collaboration spaces and partnering with Intel is pivotal to these efforts,” stated Stephan Ilberg, manager for strategic partnerships and business development for Bose Work, at Bose Professional. “From patient care to education, from the hybrid workplace to creative collaboration, we bring the simplicity and clarity of Bose to conferencing and unified communications.”

The Intel Unite app for the Bose Videobar VB1 is part of a large and growing library of apps for the Intel Unite solution; an open-architecture collaboration platform designed by Intel originally for its own use, but now installed in enterprise, education, and healthcare operations globally.
