AMAZON WEB SERVICES AND INTEL INC. COLLABORATE TO ACCELERATE PRIVATE 5G DEPLOYMENTS

As part of AWS re:Invent 2022 in Las Vegas, I had the opportunity to host a panel session entitled: Accelerating Telco Innovation and Impact Through 5G and Private Networks.  In this session I was joined by Sameer Vuyyuru, Director of AWS and we shared how Amazon Web Services and Intel Inc recently entered into a strategic agreement that will accelerate the adoption of private 5G networks in the industry.

Under the agreement both parties agreed to collaborate and co-invest to accelerate customer adoption of private 5G networks by building private 5G experience centers in America and Europe.  In addition, we will be preparing joint marketing and selling activations and developing POCs with industry leading ISVs and system integrators that will foster quicker adoption of private networks in the marketplace.

Our two companies are teaming up to address the challenges that enterprises face as they look to adopt private networks for specific use cases.  These enterprises want to develop a personalized network for their unique requirements that will allow them to reap the benefits of security, connectivity, and scale.  In fact, Deloitte states that 70% of enterprises will use the intelligent edge by 2023 and $5.7B will be spent on private network infrastructure by 2024 (IDC).

Intel and AWS will each co-invest to target key customers over the next 3 years.  By utilizing the experience centers in Europe of North America, these customers can work directly with partners to develop demonstrations which will lead to POCs and deployments.

Please join us as we continue to ease and accelerate the broad deployment of private 5G across many vertical industries.  Intel has been at the forefront of enabling a broad ecosystem to deliver innovations for hundreds of use cases that are reaping the benefits of Intel technology for private networks.  The launch of this collaboration with AWS and development of joint centers will create unique demos and scale the numbers of deployments as we move into 2023.
