good afternoon:
we have a Jasper Forest (Xeon C5500) based Wahweap Canyon CRB. while tinkering with the BIOS settings, we changed the QPI speed to another value instead of the default 5.86 GT/s. now the boot does not complete at all. if you see the BIOS debugt messages on the serial port, one can see that the board is in some sort of endless loop.
how do i stop these infernal reboots?
thank you for your time and help.
have a nice day,
Aaron

hello folks:
we found the answer. this works for any x86 motherboard.
you can either remove the coin battery next to the BIOS or reset the CMOS data by using the jumper near the BIOS chip or by removing the BIOS coin battery. when the CMOS data is reset, the BIOS reverts to default settings.
How do you reset the BIOS?
