Ethernet Adaptor

I have recently purchased a used DELL 560

The ethernet connection is through a INTEL 82562V-2 10/100 adaptor

The network does not come up on switching on the PC, after doing winsock resets adaptor resets and IP resets, the adaptor can come to life.

The driver for the device is version 9.13.41.3, I have looked on the INTEL website for an update or even a replacement driver, but so far have had no luck.

Will one of the later drivers for windows 10 64bit work with the adaptor?

I want to use this PC for a Freenas server so a good ethernet connection is essential.

Hello Wiradog,

Thank you for posting in Intel Ethernet Communities.

Kindly provide the following information that would help in checking your query.

1. Is the INTEL 82562V-2 10/100 adaptor embedded on your DELL 560?

2. When did you purchase the PC? Is it a brand new PC?

3. Have you confirmed with Dell if Windows 10 Operating System is supported on their DELL 560?

4. We'd like to set your expectation that we might have a limited support on this request as Intel® 82562V Fast Ethernet PHY has been discontinued. You may refer to link below and check status of the adapter. But don't worry as we will still do our best to assist you on this request.

Hi Crisselle,

Thank you for your reply. I will answer your questions in the order you asked them.

1 Yes the INTEL 82562V-2 adaptor is embedded in my DELL 560

2 The DELL 560 is second hand, it has been refurbished.

3 No I have not yet confirmed with DELL that the 560 is compliant with Windows 10, the operating system was already installed.

The Windows system that is currently on this PC will be replaced by a Linux FreeNas NAS server system. This runs off a pen drive, therefore is very light on the PC's resources. The importance of the network adaptor though is quite vital to the operation in this case.
