Intel X710 for 10GbE SFP+ rx_dropped increase

Hi,

The i40e driver of network card 710 experiences severe packet loss. The main reason is the increase in rx_rropped statistics in ethtool-S. By examining the i40e driver source code, it was found that rx_rropped is the statistical representation of rx_iscaffolds. This value is written in the register of the network card. Under what circumstances will this rx-discaffolds increase? At present, after adjusting the ringbuffer size of the network card to the maximum 4096, the customer environment still loses packets. The improvement effect is not significant. May I ask if there are any other optimization plans?

 

For example:

ethtool -S ens2f0

NIC statistics:

rx_packets: 18198913247

tx_packets: 13051235581

rx_bytes: 10555544090204

tx_bytes: 2367746549153

rx_errors: 0

tx_errors: 0

rx_dropped: 92572379

tx_dropped: 0
