When I try to install the ProWinx64 software on my Lenovo Thinkpad T470 (machine type 20JM) running Windows 10 Enterprise, 64-bit, version 10.0 (build 10240) , it first shows "Installing network drivers for Intel Ethernet Connection I219-v". Then after about 10 minutes I get an error message which reads "Cannot install drivers. No Intel Adapters are present in this computer." When I try a different method of installation, namely, right-clicking the device within Device Manager and clicking Update Driver Software, and choosing any of the files within the NDIS65 folder (whose 'readme' file says that the files in that folder can be used to install the driver software on Windows 10 systems) I get the error "Windows found driver software for your device, but encountered an error while attempting to install it. Intel Ethernet Connection I219-V ."
Lenovo tech support says they can't help since it's an Intel driver.
The BIOS of the laptop has been updated to the latest version available from Lenovo.
What can I do to get this (or some other working) driver installed, so I can connect to a wired network? Thank you.
Thank you for posting in Wired Communities. I am sorry to hear what happened, just to double check are you installing the PROset version 23.1 post on our website?
If this is not the driver you install, you may try but we do not guarantee it will work as well. For OEM onboard NIC, the OEM board vendor might have made changes on the I219V ethernet controller to adapt to their system and the changes are beyond our supporting scope. I understand you already contacted Lenovo, I would recommend you contact them for their customized driver for your laptop instead using Intel driver.
Please refer to the supporting option for Intel ethernet controller
As stated on our download center website https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25016/Intel-Network-Adapter-Driver-for-Windows-10?product=...
"The driver or software for your Intel® component might have been changed or replaced by the computer manufacturer. We recommend you work with your computer manufacturer before installing our driver so you don't lose features or customizations.
Hope the above information clarified.
Checking on the Lenovo* website the laptop supports Windows* 10 ( https://www3.lenovo.com/ph/en/laptops/thinkpad/thinkpad-t-series/ThinkPad-T470/p/22TP2TT4700-Note: this is third party website for your reference, Intel has no control over the content therein), just to double check if the Windows 10 version you have is the pre-installed version from Lenovo*?
The error "No Intel adapters are present in this computer" is encountered when the device ID of the adapter is not present in the .inf file associated with the executable driver. If you are not using a pre-installed Windows 10 version from Lenovo,* please try contacting them again if they have customized driver for the Windows 10 for your laptop.
