Re: Change MAC Address with BootUtil

Hello @CarlosAM_INTEL ,

We are trying to update the MAC address of Intel i210 on a custom built board. We have tried using the BOOTUTIL64E.EFI (in https://downloadmirror.intel.com/844426/PREBOOT.zip), but could not succeed.

The command "BOOTUTIL64E.EFI -NIC=1 -MACCADDR=[MAC address string] fails stating "-NIC" and "-MACADDR" are mutually exclusive options.

Furthermore, Bootutil.txt states that -MACADDR=[MAC address string] Selects the network port specified by "[MAC address string]".

Could you please inform us if there is a change in the MAC Address update procedure for i210.

Kind regards,

Hakan YILMAZ

Hello @Fikri_Intel ,

This question is in regard to a custom designed board that uses the Camelback Mountain CRB as reference.

The full part number is WGI210IT S LJXT.

The I210 is embedded with in the  mainboard.

We are not using Windows or Linux.

Hi hakan_yilmaz,

I would like to inform you that you would need the iNVM image and the EEPROM Access Tool to update the MAC Address. I kindly request you to check the following documents:

#572162 - EEPROM Access Tool [EAT].

#513655 - Intel® Ethernet Controller I210 and I211- AT Production NVM Images

The document #572162 includes a user guide, you may check section 4.0 - Using the Tool.

"Users can also program the device together with a MAC address". Also, you may find all documentation available for the i210 using this link:

https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/products/details/ethernet/gigabit-network-adapters/i210-server-adapters/docs.html

However Premier account is required in order to get access to the mentioned documents.
