Unfortunately I cannot access to direct link into this post.

Thanks!

Hello,

thanks for prompt reply.

I'm working trying to solve an important issue on industrial systems (Nuvo 9000 series by Neousys): network speed link with connected Balser cameras (and some consumer lan switches) sometimes is negotiated at 100Mbps instead of 1Gbps. Doing a simple port disable/enable (or lan cable unplug/replug) solve issue, but this is an acceptable solution.

Issue happens randomly on all ports equipped with I225-IT chipset (system has 5 ports with this model, and 1 port with I219-LM, that doesn't show any issue).

I discovered that ports has fw v. 1.85, so I would like to do tests with newer versions, like 1.89 and 1.94.

Just let me know for any further information.

Thanks,

Francesco

Hi Manoranjan,
thanks for replying. Here my findings:
1. We are talking about onboard lan ports of this computer (it's equipped with 6 lan ports)
2. As said, they are embedded lan ports
3. I found this thread doing some web search

Just let me know for any question. Hope to get that firmware and do some test.

Thanks for collaboration,
Francesco

Hi FrancescoAmoia,

Greetings!

Thank you for the update and confirmation.

Since your network card i225-T is onboard, you need to contact Neousys for the firmware file that you need to update. And also, each board will have different steps on how to update the firmware of the onboard network card.

Just to add, you cannot update the OEM network cards firmware regardless of if it is onboard or a PCIe card using Intel's NVM file, you may damage the card. Same goes with a retail Intel network card, you cannot use the firmware file from an OEM manufacturer.

Below are some steps that can be performed which might resolve your issue.

1) Update the drivers to the latest available version provided by the manufacturer

  • Boot to Windows*.
  • Go to the download center of the motherboard manufacturer.
  • Download the Intel® Gigabit Ethernet Driver's latest driver.

NOTE: Inside the package, you will find the firmware update tool and instructions on how to use it; the update can also be included on the Basic Input/Output System (BIOS) Original equipment manufacturer (OEM). Before installing the Intel I225-V driver, ensure that the Intel I225-V is updated to the latest provided by the OEM via the firmware update tool. After finishing the necessary firmware update, shut down and unplug the power cord, and then reboot the system normally. For more information, refer to the firmware update guide.

  • Update the firmware to the latest version.
  • Install the latest LAN driver.
  • Turn off the power supply (AC).
  • Wait for 30 seconds.
  • Turn on the power supply and boot to Windows*.
  • Go to Device Manager.
  • Find the I225 Controller.
  • Uninstall all existing drivers.
  • Install the latest LAN driver as provided in the download package.

2) Ensure that Energy Efficiency Ethernet settings on the driver and router side (if available) are disabled, by following the steps below:

  • Open Device Manager.
  • Double-click Network adapters.
  • Right-click the network adapter you want, and then click Properties.
  • On the Advanced tab, look for Energy Efficient Ethernet (EEE) option and make the appropriate changes you want.

3) Change the following settings from the advanced menu in the controller properties

  • Large Send Offload V2 (IPV4)
  • TCP Checksum Offload (IPV6)

4) Change Speed/Duplex from Auto-Negotiate to 1.0 Gbps Full Duplex to see if there was a negotiation issue.

5) Uncheck the Power Management option to Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power.

6) Uncheck the Power Management option to Allow this device to wake the computer.
