Hello IHB,

Thank you for posting in Intel Communities.

We understand that you are looking for how to NIC on Windows 11.

Intel® PROSet and Intel® Advanced Network Services (Intel® ANS) will not be supported on Microsoft Windows* 11 or future Microsoft client operating system updates. This includes the Intel ANS features that allow the creation of Intel ANS Teams and VLANs. Intel driver support for Microsoft Windows 11 will be available.

Microsoft Windows 10 is the final Microsoft Windows Operating System to support Intel PROSet and Intel ANS.

Please see further details here: Support Information for Intel® PROSet and Intel® Advanced Network Services (Intel® ANS) on Microsoft Windows* 11.

The PowerShell method described below for Windows 10 to set up teaming is only a reference for you to confirm the latest compatible Windows 10 version (1809).

For specific Instructions on how to use PowerShell* with recent drivers to set up a team with an Intel® Ethernet Adapter, please see: How to Set Up Teaming with an Intel® Ethernet Adapter in Windows® 10 1809?

The final answer would be there is no ANS for Intel drivers on Windows 11, that is what provided the teaming functionality previously.

We have seen some people claim that the powershell command "new-netswitchteam" from Microsoft will work in Windows 11, but we have not tried it to confirm.

It runs on one of our laptops, but we don't know if it will create a functioning team.

We looked at the help for this command from Microsoft at https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/powershell/module/netswitchteam/?view=windowsserver2022-ps

Note : For any Windows Client editions, these NetSwitchTeam cmdlets can be used only for remote management of the Hyper-V Extensible Switch that is running on Windows Server editions. Windows Client editions do not support running the Hyper-V Extensible Switch on the client itself.

Kindly let us know if you have any questions. Else if none, please confirm case closure.

Regards,

Hayat

Just to confirm - per Intel, PROSet will no longer work once a computer upgrades from Windows 10 to Windows 11?
