Does this core require -7 speed grade on a Cyclone IV GX to meet timing or it will work for a slower -8 part?
UG-01008 2015.06.15 Table 1-4 Cyclone IV GX Performance and Resource Utilization only mentioned -7 and not -8. Because of device shortage, I am inquiring to see if I can switch from -7 to -8. I am using the EP4CGX150CF23 which is the biggest part within the family and speed is usually worst for bigger part.
If the corollary is true, can it runs a 1G only without the extra baggage of 10/100?
Thanks.

Hi Patrick Tam,
According to TSE UG Table 14, it says the speed grade is -7. I would suggest you to use device with
speed grade -7 as it might have some timing issue if use slower speed.
