Hello,
Using u-boot to request access to SPI flash controller fails with the error message: MBOX_RESP_PUF_ACCCES_FAILED (0x80) /*Invalid license for IID registration*/.
This error message is returned to the HPS from the SDM using the SDM mailbox.
For reference, we have Agilex™ 7 FPGA I-Series Development Kit (ES1 2x R-Tile & 1x F-Tile) DK-DEV-AGI027R1BES (Power Solution 1) AGIB027R29A1E2VR3.
Any help in understanding the MBOX_RESP_PUF_ACCCES_FAILED error code and how to resolve would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Kiebach

Hello,
I've been able to use the SDM mailbox to get IDCODE, CHIPID, USERCODE, VOLTAGEs, TEMPERATUREs and CONFIG_STATUS information. Works great.
Accessing the QSPI is not working, and I don't know why.
QSPI_OPEN works.
QSPI_SET_CS results in MBOX_RESP_PUF_ACCCES_FAILED = 0x80, /* Invalid license for IID registration */
Doesn't matter which nCSO value, all four of them get the same failure.
Does anyone know how to resolve this error code?
Thanks.
PS - Reference the Mailbox Client Intel FPGA IPs User Guide 683290 2024.07.08.
